My ride is a 12 year old SSH- Claudette's Pride, My husband has a 8 year old Rocky Mountain Gelding- Bank's Little Touch and we also have a 21 year
old - semi retired character (I mean Paso) named Doc

In 2006 I started making rhythm beads/mane clips and saddle clips. I really enjoy making the "personalized" ones and seeing them on the horses. See

It's an absolute beautiful day to ride- and---- I'm at work--
My son Erik went back to the surgeon Monday for his checkup. He has had a ankle swelling problem the last few days--- so he has an ultrasound today to check for a blood clot. It's only 1 foot so I don't think it's water retension - so I'm a little concerned. I also just found out that he is on high blood pressure medicine too!!
So-- it goes along with getting more anxious about... -

Back to work today---
Erik did fine with his surgery. He did get sick in recovery--I'm not surprised-- I do too. He goes back to the doctor in two weeks.
Mike's surgery is in almost 3 weeks. At this point we are trying to get stuff done-- like fencing - before he's out for awhile.
Had a great visit with Jim & Donna on vacation-- too bad they don't live closer. We would have more great visits I'm sure.-- -

Erik - my son- has to have hernia surgery Wednesday. He thought he pulled a muscle in his groin - but has 2 hernia's---- another surgery. Things seem to run in cycles don't they?
I tease him - since he moved out on his own and got engaged and married-- he has been to the doctor more in the last year than the previous 5 years before-- I asked my daughter in law want is she doing to my boy!June 21st

Mike is going to have to have surgery. A colon resection. He had a routine colonoscopy in Feb and a pretty large polyp was found-- in a very hard place to get rid of . It was more in the "wall". The doctor burned as much as he could off -sent it to the lab.
The lab results came back ok- but the doctor wanted him to have another in 3 months. He had another about a week and half ago and the polyp was as big if not bigger than 3 months ago.
The lab results say it's...June 13th

Trying to catch up from vacation-- Great time-- I wish it hadn't gotten so hot and humid so quick--
My Distance Runner did GREAT on Claudette. No sore spots at all. And is very comfortable for me too which is always a plus!
Mike also purchased a Watson while we were there from Buddy-- it's an Arizona Deep Seat. Very western and pretty conchos , etc. Heavier than mine-- but he's the one that has to lift it - not me--May 19th

It's hard to believe in 2 weeks we will be on the road to Hayes Campground!! REALLY looking forward to this ride. I hope the horses do ok as we have not got to ride as much as we would like. OF COURSE - it's beautiful out this AM - and we are both at work.
Lots of Mike's work buddies have retired - starting today. A whole new job for him and his new co worker will come from night work. He's worked with her before -- so it should be ok. I wish he could have...April 23rd

Got another ride in yesterday-- the weather is FINALLY good. Claudette's back is fine- and I should have my new saddle Thursday.
Matter of fact-- it was actually hot yesterday- the hair on the horses was REALLY coming off.
It feels SO good to be riding - looking forward to a great riding season.April 18th

Hoping to get out Sunday for our first real trail ride of the season. Everyday we CAN ride something else has come up.
Getting excited about going to Mammoth Cave the first of May- and Liddy coming down to go with me.

Today is Claudette's 12th birthday-- it's so hard to believe that she was 3 1/2 when I got her. Doc's unofficial birthday was yesterday (April Fools Day)
- he was 21.
We are trying to get geared up for warmer weather-- riding and "Chores". We got fertilizier and lime for the pasture yesterday and the fert had DOUBLED since last spring. The lime went up...
